The Arsenal Technical High School Alumni Association gives the following awards annually on Alumni Day to deserving Tech alumni and friends of Tech. If you would like to nominate someone for one or more of these awards, please contact the Alumni Association today.
ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR AWARD (STARTED 1972)
The Arsenal Technical High School ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR AWARD is given annually in June, on Alumni Day, to a living graduate who has demonstrated outstanding performance in their endeavor to succeed in their chosen field; and made significant contributions in community service, in local and/or national activities. The recipient must be present on Alumni Day in order to be eligible to receive this award.

WALLY POTTER MEMORIAL AWARD (STARTED 2010)
Wally Potter was a 1940 graduate of Tech who returned to Tech to teach and coach for 31 years from 1949 until his retirement in 1980. But Wally never really left Tech High School. Until his passing in 2009, Wally supported Tech’s Alumni Association, Tech’s Athletic Hall of Fame, Tech’s Retired Teachers Association, and scores of other groups, events and activities. No one gave more of themselves to Tech High School in their lifetime than Wallace Reid Potter. He was inducted into the Indianapolis Public School Hall of Fame in 1986.
Recipients of this WALLY POTTER MEMORIAL AWARD will be evaluated on the following criteria: a) must be a Tech graduate, b) must have played a sport, coached or been involved in the Tech Athletic program in some way, c) has supported the Tech Athletic program, Tech Academic program, or ATHS Alumni Association activities in some important way since their graduation, d) must be present at Alumni Day to receive the award. This award is given annually, in June, on Alumni Day

DUANE BLANKENHORN AWARD (STARTED 2002)
Duane Blankenhorn was a 1952 graduate of Tech, a teacher, counselor, and a dedicated long time member of the Arsenal Technical Alumni Board, serving in a number of capacities. This DUANE BLANKENHORN AWARD was established to honor Duane and is given to an ATHS Alumni Board member who has served on the board for at least 5 years as an officer or in a position of responsibility. The award is given annually on Alumni Day in June. The recipient must be present on Alumni Day in order to be eligible to receive this award.

KARL J. STIPHER AWARD (STARTED 1987)
Karl J. Stipher was a 1931 graduate of Tech, the first Alumni Association President, and a long time member of the Arsenal Technical High School Alumni Board. This KARL J. STIPHER AWARD was established to recognize people, whether they are a graduate or not, who have dedicated themselves in some manner to Arsenal Technical High School. Recipients must have had a significant positive influence on Tech in some aspect, worked with students, or made contributions in several other areas. This award is given annually, in June, on Alumni Day. The recipient must be present on Alumni Day in order to be eligible to receive this award

HONORARY TECH GRADUATE AWARD (STARTED 1993)
An HONORARY TECH GRADUATE AWARD is given periodically, if and when a candidate fits the criteria, to one or more people who did not attend or graduate from Tech High School, but have made significant contributions to Tech High School and/or to the ATHS Alumni Association. If a candidate is chosen, this award is presented in June, on Alumni Day, and the recipient must be present in order to receive this award.
